Shore of Reflection

As the curtains draw on another chapter of my academic journey, I find myself standing on the shore of reflection, peering into the depths of my experiences. 2nd Quarter has been a ride of rollercoaster—disappointment, appreciation for myself for always trying, and a sense of resilience for overcoming challenges.

In my ICT class, I got to learn about Basic HTML Codes, a lesson that sparked my utmost excitement. It was something I'd been looking forward to since we started the class. Learning codes proved to be both engaging and fulfilling as I witnessed the tangible results of my efforts. However, amidst the thrill of discovery, I embraced the inevitable journey of making mistakes, recognizing that each error serves as a stepping stone in my ongoing learning process.

Among the lessons that have left a lasting imprint on me, one stands out vividly— the art of

capturing moments. As a Photojournalism student, I recently stumbled upon my skill in photography. It was during a workshop with Mr. Ken that I first realized my potential. His encouraging words, praising my ability to convey stories through my photos, ignited a newfound confidence within me. Likewise, Mr. Ryan, my coach, emphasized the importance of consistency in my work and urged me to seek out and capture the most touching moments. Though I am still in the process of learning and growing, I am determined to hone my skills further in the hopes of achieving success in the DSPC competition.

In my journey of learning, I faced some tough challenges like procrastination, feeling demotivated, questioning why do I keep moving forward, and doubting myself. But I found a way to beat them. Whenever these struggles creep up like monsters, I remind myself to take a break. I also encourage myself to improve and give credit for trying. I also remind myself that I am doing all this to achieve my dream and regardless of how stressful school or journalism can be, it makes me happy, and that’s what matters.

As I step into another quarter, I eagerly anticipate the lessons that await, ready to foster both academic and personal growth. May this blog post serve as a gentle reminder that it's normal to experience a range of emotions beyond just happiness or contentment. These feelings make us human and teach us to cherish genuine happiness when it comes our way.
