Railways & Engines

If you were to compare yourself to something that best describes you, what would it be?  We all have our own personalities. You are made up of certain features or characteristics that define or describe who you are. But only you are able to identify the components that make you up since they are a part of you. My name is Stephanie Nicole Tubon, and I describe myself as an ambitious and hardworking person. I am the type of person who doesn’t stop pursuing my dreams. So, If I were to ask myself the same question, I would compare myself to a train.

Trains are just several containers on wheels that are all connected together and which are pulled by an engine along a railroad, right? You may be wondering why a train best describes me. First of all, we all know that a train only stops once it reaches its destination. That’s how I am. I have always been passionate about my dreams and goals in life. Even if there are problems that comes along the way, I never stop. But can trains even move or go to their destination without engines? Since I describe myself as a train, my engines are simply my family and friends. They inspire me and help me continue moving forward in life. They give me the strength that I need when the railway is tough. However, my engines are not enough to keep me going. I need passengers. These passengers I carry from one station to another, give me a glimpse of where I want to be.

Just like a train, there is no competition. Trains just go to their destined place without thinking about the other trains. Trains just follow the railway and move from station to station. Again, that’s how I am. I don’t think about what other people achieve. I don’t get envious of them. The only competition is between me and myself. All I have to do is to be better than who I was yesterday and continue following the railway God created that’s leading me to a place where I belong.

I never stop until I reach my destination, but the truth is, I have no intention of stopping. There are times when I get tired, but I’ll just rest. Even when I have reached my destination, I will continue to move forward and go to the next station. Once again, I am Stephanie Nicole Tubon, and a train is what best describes me. How about you?
