A Letter to the President: Expressing Concern for the Future
Dear President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As a concerned citizen, I feel compelled to reach out to you and express my thoughts and worries about the current state of our nation. The purpose of this letter is not to criticize or condemn, but rather to bring attention to certain issues that I believe deserve your attention.
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the progress and development that has taken place during your tenure as the President of our country. Your efforts in infrastructure development, healthcare reforms, and economic growth have been commendable. However, I am also aware of the controversies and concerns raised by various sectors of society.
One of the main concerns that troubles me is the growing disparity between the rich and the poor. While our nation has experienced economic growth, it seems that only a select few are truly benefiting from it. The marginalized sectors of society are still struggling to meet their basic needs, and the income gap continues to widen. I implore you to prioritize inclusive policies that address this divide and provide equal opportunities for all.
Another pressing issue is the erosion of democratic values and the shrinking space for dissent. It is disheartening to witness the curtailing of freedom of speech and expression, as well as the suppression of independent media. A vibrant democracy thrives on the free exchange of ideas and a healthy opposition. It is my hope that you will prioritize restoring and protecting our democratic institutions to ensure a truly inclusive and participatory governance.
Furthermore, I am deeply concerned about the environmental degradation that our country is facing. Climate change and deforestation have had severe repercussions on our natural resources, and the impacts are already being felt by communities across the nation. I urge you to prioritize sustainable practices and conservation efforts to safeguard our beautiful archipelago for future generations.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., I write this letter with sincere hope and aspiration for our nation's future. While it is important to recognize the achievements made under your leadership, it is equally essential to draw attention to the areas that require improvement. I trust that you will approach these concerns with an open mind, listening to the voices of the people and striving to create a better and more equitable Philippines.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Stphanie Nicole Tubon
